Progressive Baptist Church of Aurora
What We Believe
We believe the Bible, consisting of all the books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe the Bible is true and trustworthy in its moral and spiritual teachings.
We believe there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, his pre-existence, his sinless life, His miracles, his atonement, resurrection, and ascension. We believe Jesus Christ will return in power and glory.
We believe salvation begins by accepting Jesus Christ and receiving the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which enables us to live our lives according to God’s Will. We believe in the spiritual unity of the church and seek all possible means to maintain unity within our fellowship.
How Do We Practice our Faith?
At Progressive Baptist Church we strive to be Grace oriented and not judgment focused. All are welcome, no exceptions. We welcome diversity of culture, gender, thought, and opinion. We believe in the priesthood of every believer.
We seek to cooperate with people of all faith traditions who seek to make our community and world a better place. We value diversity at every level.
We believe in heaven, but until then, we resolve to be fully engaged in creating a better world for all. In addition to evangelism, issues of equity, justice, poverty, education, healthcare, and racial harmony are a part of our ministry focus.
Because of these convictions, our church is affiliated with the Progressive National Baptist Convention, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., and American Baptist Churches USA.
We look forward to you partnering with us as we share the message of Jesus Christ with others.
