Rev. Vickie Thornton was ordained in December 1988 and became a member of Progressive in 2008. She was delegated the responsibility to be over Congregation Care and then later assign over Cancer Ministry.
During her early years, she and her husband worked part-time At Austin Group Home with youth who had
been released from Youth facilities and unable to return home. All her young adult life; she had always been told that God had a job for her to do. She Never dreamed she would
become Assistant Pastor for 14 years in Cabrini Green.
She believes here in this world, we are going to be faced
with many battles. We must keep trusting and believing in God, seek His face, keep loving one another, and
know that the battle is not ours but the Lords. It is a fixed fight and we have already won.
